Comfort food kinda day.

We were under the weather, so this comfort food really put some tastes in our taste buds and the boys loved it. I grew up eating this as our mother would cook basically potatos mixed with anything. And I have picked up this routine. Whenever I find that I don’t have anything to cook in mind, Potatos are always a go to.

This recipe takes about 1h30 minutes to make, but believe me that the end results will get your whole family coming back to the pot. 

What you will need

 

Beef cut into cubes
Peeled potatoes then sliced in half
sliced Onion

 

Tomato sauce and seasoning( of your choice). I used maggi cubes.

Preparation

Cut the beef into cubes and let it simmer on medium high with a little bit of water until all water dries

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Add olive oil and let the beef fry until turned a little darker red ( but not too dark)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Add the sliced onion and stir

Add the sliced cabbage and stir

Let everything simmer until the cabbage is softening up and getting lower in the pot

Add the tomato sauce and spices

Add the peeled potatatos (washed of course) 

Cover for about 15 minutes

Stir everything on medium heat and let everything cook. 

Add about a cup of water

Constantly stir until the potatoes are soft and the sauce has thickened. 

AND THERE YOU WILL HAVE YOUR OWN “POMME DE TERRE AU CHOUX ET VIANDE” 🙂
